(LibertySociety.com) – Despite being gone from the NFL since 2016, the media continues to write about Colin Kaepernick. The latest buzz surrounds his decision not to celebrate Christmas, which was revealed during an episode of his girlfriend’s podcast. The revelation came when co-host Katrina B was interviewing Kaepernick and asked what he would be getting his girlfriend Nessa Diab for Christmas. Kaepernick pointedly proclaimed, “We don’t celebrate Christmas,” followed by Diab explaining that they do not purchase gifts for one another. She went on to explain that they “just enjoy really great experiences with each other year-round.”
The conversation shifted to Katrina B’s complaints about her boyfriend, DJ Tone Def, not caring for the gifts she buys for him. She described how he would suggest she return them to the store if he did not like them. She added that she always appreciated the gifts he bought for her, even if they were not something that she loved. She did not delve further into Kaepernick’s declaration, but it is unclear if he was just referring to gift-giving or the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. His body is inked with several religious tattoos, including prayer hands and many Bible verses. He is a self-identified Christian who was raised in a Methodist Church but confirmed later as Lutheran. He went to a Baptist church while in college.
Nessa Diab is Muslim and is very outspoken about her faith. Years ago, rumors swirled that Kaepernick was converting to Islam, but this turned out to be false. They have been dating for seven years and welcomed their first child into the world back in August 2022. Diab’s podcast is rated as the number-one show among 18-34-year-olds and airs on New York City’s Hot 97 radio station. She is originally from Egypt but grew up in Southern California. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of California at Berkeley.
