(LibertySociety.com) – Former Secretary of State and failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton recently suggested that former President Trump would like to behave as Russian President Vladimir Putin does and “kill his opposition.”
The comment occurred during an April 19 podcast interview with election attorney Marc Elias, who worked for Clinton’s unsuccessful White House campaign. She claimed that Trump wanted to be able to rule “without any check or balance.” She ignored Trump’s normal reactions to various Supreme Court rulings during his presidency, while also failing to acknowledge President Biden’s multiple admissions of subverting the Court’s decisions.
For nearly eight years, Clinton has blamed Russia for her embarrassing loss. She has also accused Trump of working for Russia and suggested that Putin did not want her to win because he knew how she would handle him. She claimed that if Trump won in November, he would be at the behest of Putin, to which she urged listeners to consider the global ramifications.
Clinton told Elias that Trump’s goal was to pull out of NATO because he had no concern for Europe and wanted to see Ukraine lose the war. Additionally, she said that Trump wanted to do away with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) so that the United States could not spy on its enemies. However, Trump only recommended Republicans reject the reauthorization bill in its current form, which allowed American citizens to be surveilled without a warrant.
In a separate interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in early April, Clinton recommended voters move past their dissatisfaction with having a Trump and Biden rematch. She said that both were old, but touted Biden’s Democratic successes and caring nature while blasting Trump for his numerous indictments. She told Fallon that people who did not see the seriousness of making the alleged right decision were simply not paying enough attention to the intentions of Trump and his loyalists.
