BLM Leader Endorses Trump for 2024 Election

( – Former President Trump picked up an interesting endorsement on November 28 that sparked instant online debate. Black Lives Matter Rhode Island’s co-founder, Mark Fisher, appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss why he was done with the Democratic Party and throwing his support behind Trump.

Fisher blasted the policies that “strike at the heart of the black family and the nuclear family.” He said that the Democratic Party has proven that working in the interests of black people is not a priority. In an early November interview on the Kim Iverson Show, Fisher discussed how Democrats have taken the support of black voters for granted for far too long. He described the Party as racist and abusive toward black people. Fisher spoke highly of former President Trump and applauded his work to uplift the black community.

During the Fox interview, Fisher said that the Democrat Party “is a racist party. Donald Trump is just the opposite.” He also described Trump as a straight shooter and pointed out the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party.

This move has likely struck fear in Democrats, especially after the dismal polling President Biden received in early November. An Associated Press poll showed that just 41 percent of black voters wanted Biden to seek a second term. Fifty-five percent said that they would vote for Biden if he was the Democratic nominee. A New York Times/Siena College poll showed that former President Trump’s support among black voters had skyrocketed to 22 percent in swing states that Biden previously won. In 2020, Trump received just eight percent support from black voters.

Former President Trump responded to the media reports of Fisher’s endorsement in a Truth Social post. He said that he had spoken with Fisher and welcomed his and BLM’s endorsement. He continued, writing about the accomplishments during his administration that helped the black community, including Opportunity Zones, criminal justice reform, and a decade’s worth of funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
