(LibertySociety.com) – Democrats across the nation have begun preparing for battle if a second Trump presidency becomes a reality in November. During his first administration, activist groups and Democratic attorneys general filed lawsuit after lawsuit to hinder then-President Trump’s agenda, and this time around will be no different. Before becoming Biden’s Health and Human Services secretary, Xavier Becerra was the attorney general for the state of California. During his tenure, he filed over 100 lawsuits against the Trump administration to force his policy decisions into limbo.
Becerra’s successor, Democrat Rob Bonta, recently said that his office had begun preparing to sue the potential future Trump administration for anything and everything, especially issues related to immigration, civil rights, and the environment. Bonta’s team has been studying the “Project 2025” document created by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank that supports Trump’s America First agenda.
One spokesperson for the Republican National Committee (RNC) was unsurprised at Bonta’s plans, telling one media outlet that liberals will stop at nothing to “spread their failed, fringe-left agenda far and wide.” The spokesperson said that their efforts will not prevent Trump from “making America great again.” Trump has laid out his “Agenda 47” on his personal website through multiple videos dedicated to ending the radical left policies that have been forced upon virtually every institution in the United States.
Meanwhile, Bonta’s office refused to provide comment to one conservative media outlet regarding his effort to protect Jewish students amid the recent antisemitic protests happening on California college campuses. However, Bonta has spoken out about protecting the rights of the anti-Israel protestors, going as far as giving his stamp of approval to break the law so long as no one gets hurt.
Bonta is contemplating running for governor but recently said that he would not announce his decision until after the 2024 election in November. If he decides to run, he will be among a host of Democratic candidates.
