Israel Won’t Let Up Gaza Bombing, Defying Biden

(LibertySociety.com) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a powerful response to United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s suggestion to impose a temporary pause on retaliating against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Blinken reportedly made the recommendation during a meeting with Netanyahu on November 3 and during a press conference on the same day. Netanyahu released a statement following the meeting, stating that Israel will continue responding “with full force” and would not consider any type of temporary ceasefire unless hostages are released.

Since the deadly attack on October 7, far-left progressive United States lawmakers have placed the blame on Israel. Michigan Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib accused the Biden administration of supporting the genocide of Palestinians and demanded he call for a ceasefire or else risk losing voters in the 2024 presidential election. Previously, Netanyahu released a video message to Americans like Tlaib who believe that Israel should call a ceasefire. He said that America would not agree to a ceasefire during Pearl Harbor or after the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

Now more Democratic lawmakers are urging a temporary ceasefire to allow more Palestinian civilians to escape and humanitarian aid to be delivered. Virginia Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said that not protecting Palestinian civilians would prevent any type of peaceful relations in the future between Israelis and Palestinians. Israeli President Isaac Herzog recently wrote a scathing piece in the New York Times, which was published on the same day as Blinken and Netanyahu’s meeting. Herzog wrote that “the suffering will end only with the removal of Hamas.” He blasted those who are exploiting Palestinian civilians to encourage Israel to stop its military operation in Gaza.

Herzog also pointed out the recent behavior on college campuses across the United States, slamming those who were expressing pro-Hamas sentiments. The Hamas attack in Israel resulted in the death of 1,400 people. Gaza’s Health Ministry, which is under the control of Hamas, has reported that Israel has killed over 9,000 Palestinians in the last month.
