Feds Conduct Search of Mike Pence's Residence

(LibertySociety.com) – Friday, February 10th, 2023, the FBI conducted a scheduled search of former Vice President Mike Pence’s residence in Carmel, Indiana, finding one additional document with classified markings. Fox News reports that the search was to make sure there were no documents overlooked after the former VP turned over classified documents in January of 2023 that were mistakenly taken. It is still unknown what the contents of those documents pertained to. The search of Pence’s residence was pre-scheduled.

The search came a day after the special counsel investigating former President Trump subpoenaed the former VP. Special counsel Jack Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland back in November 2022, shortly after former President Trump announced that he would be running for President again. He is investigating the former President for supposed mishandling of classified documents as well as whether he bears responsibility for events that occurred on January 6th, 2021.

Former President Trump spoke out when former Vice President Pence informed Congress of his discovery of classified documents, stating that Mike Pence was “an innocent man” and had never knowingly done anything “dishonest.” Pence also notified the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), which has most recently come into the spotlight with claims from the media about interactions with former President Trump. He claims that there were never any problems and his team was working nicely with NARA, while the media has suggested otherwise. With the recent discovery of classified documents in Pence’s possession, it raises questions about whether or not anyone else will come forward in the future.
