Trump Makes Campaign Vow To Get Rid of Birthright Citizenship

(LibertySociety.com) – As the 2024 campaign season is ramping up, candidates are offering their lists of promises to the American people if they are the chosen candidate. Former President Donald Trump is addressing the increase in immigration, which has been a heavily controversial issue among Republicans and Democrats in recent years. His campaign has taken a new approach to reach the public, with video messages from the 45th President posted on his Truth Social account and disseminated through campaign emails and posts on other social media platforms.

On May 30th, 2023, Trump released a video message about an executive order that he says he will sign the day he is back in the White House that will no longer allow children of illegal immigrants to become United States citizens “under the correct interpretation of the law,” which he will require federal agencies to abide by. He spoke about how the order will deter illegal migrants from coming into the country to have children and later become legal citizens through chain migration.

The former President also criticized President Joe Biden for his border policies and the number of illegal migrants who have been allowed into the country. Many will have children in the United States who immediately become citizens upon birth, which former President Trump argues is wrong since the parents broke the law when coming into the country. He also noted how his executive order will put a stop to “birth tourism,” which he says will be stopped by preventing children born in the United States from becoming citizens unless one of their parents is a legal citizen. His biggest contender in the 2024 presidential primary election is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who recently signed a massive immigration bill to stop the flow of illegal migrants into the state.
