MLB Legend Mariano Rivera Endorses Trump

(LibertySociety.com) – Former President Trump received a major endorsement on April 8 from legendary New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera. He announced his intention to back Trump during a radio broadcast of “Sid & Friends in the Morning” on WABC. Rivera remarked on his and Trump’s long history, stating, “President Trump, he’s my friend.” He added that their friendship was the reason for his decision but argued that voting for Trump was “the right thing for the country.”

President Trump thanked Rivera for his endorsement in a Truth Social post. Trump previously awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019 for his philanthropy and successes in professional baseball. Rivera is not shy about his faith in God and always leaned on Him throughout his career. His former teammates talked about his commitment to God and his gentle way of sharing his beliefs with others. Rivera is originally from Panama but became a naturalized United States citizen in 2015.

Trump has a host of faithful prominent supporters like Rivera who have stood by his side for many years. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO and president Dana White has been friends with Trump for 20 years and is often outspoken in the media about the reasons behind his support. Singer Kid Rock is also another vocal supporter. As the election draws nearer, Trump will receive endorsements from people who are not his biggest fans but believe that he will be a better president than Biden. Republican mega-donors fall into this category, as many threw their support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Trump and the Republican National Committee recently hauled in a record $50 million in one night at a Palm Beach, Florida, fundraiser hosted by billionaire John Paulson. Many more fundraisers are on the horizon, including an April 25 event hosted by former First Lady Melania Trump for the Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-a-Lago.
