Eastman Says Trump’s Indictment is a “False Narrative”

(LibertySociety.com) – Attorney John Eastman has been identified as one of the unindicted co-conspirators in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s latest indictment of former President Trump. He has been outspoken in his belief that the 2020 presidential election was fraught with irregularities, and he counseled Trump’s team on the legal pathways that could be taken to rectify the issues. During a recent interview on The Charlie Kirk Show, Eastman called Smith’s indictment “45 pages of basically false narrative.”

Eastman compared the language in the indictment to the Russian collusion hoax perpetrated on Trump during his campaign and early in his presidency. He told Kirk that the DOJ is demanding that Americans ignore all the evidence of fraud during the 2020 election “just because Bill Barr and Krebs said so.” Eastman was referring to former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) director Chris Krebs’ claim that the 2020 election was more secure than any other election in the nation’s history, and former Attorney General Bill Barr’s claim that there was not enough fraud to change the outcome of the election.

Eastman then spoke about multiple authoritarian actions by the federal government that he believes will only get worse if prominent activists like Kirk and himself refuse to speak up and defend American freedom. Kirk asked Eastman if he believes the DOJ will eventually indict him, but he did not seem concerned about the possibility. He told Kirk that the target is former President Trump and that he believes the DOJ named the coconspirators to scare them into turning on Trump. He made clear that there would be no reason for him to turn on Trump because everything he and the 45th President did was completely legal. Eastman said that they are only going after Trump because he is protecting American sovereignty.

Thus far, five co-conspirators have been identified by CNN, while the sixth remains unknown. Notably, a former attorney for then-President Trump, Jenna Ellis, has been ruled out as a co-conspirator. She traveled to several states with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, educating state legislators on their constitutional duty to protect the integrity of the elections in their states.
