(LibertySociety.com) – Americans struggling to afford filling up their gas tanks hope the hike will soon end, but the White House confirmed there’s no end in sight on March 14. During a briefing, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated the government believes gas prices will “continue to go up.” Although she indicated President Joe Biden is looking into ways to decrease the impact on American citizens, she neglected to go into the specifics about a definite plan.
According to GasBuddy, gas prices vary across the country, with the lowest average in Oklahoma at nearly $3.80 per gallon to the most expensive in California with an average of $5.78.

Earlier in March, some suggested the government institute a federal gas tax holiday to give Americans a break at the pump. While the White House claims nothing is “off the table,” there is no sign of any moves toward relief for the public still reeling from the economic effects of the pandemic. With the ban of Russian oil imports, no set replacement for the shortfall, and no known help from the White House in the works, drivers will likely continue to suffer every time they fill up at the gas station for the foreseeable future.
