(LibertySociety.com) – In the latest effort to cover for President Biden’s multitude of missteps, the White House warned the public about “cheap fakes,” or videos intentionally edited to deceive the public.
After nearly three weeks without a daily press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed on June 17 that two recent videos of Biden appearing lost and confused were inaccurate. The first video that Jean-Pierre said was “done in bad faith” was during Biden’s visit to Europe for the G7 summit. The June 13 clip showed the 46th president wandering away from the group of world leaders during a skydiving show before the Italian prime minister reined him back toward the crowd. Biden was speaking as he walked toward one of the skydivers, but social media users also pointed out his apparent state of confusion.
While Jean-Pierre’s claim about the G7 clip could be seen as plausible, the second clip was undeniable. Nevertheless, she categorized it as a deceptive edit. During a June 17 fundraising event, Biden froze up for several seconds before former President Obama gently grabbed his arm and then guided him backstage with his hand on Biden’s lower back. Jean-Pierre played it off as a familial interaction between the pair. Most social media users asserted that Biden was lost and had to be directed off-stage, with many recalling various other instances where he was directed by the First Lady or members of the Secret Service.
Jean-Pierre scolded the media for covering the clips and attempted to shift the subject to President Biden’s legislative successes since he took office. Biden’s cognitive and physical capabilities have been at the forefront since before he was elected to office, but his stumbling, tumbling, and word fumbling have only increased during his presidency. A recent poll showed that 82 percent of Americans are concerned about his overall health. In another poll, one-third of respondents said that he is not fit to be president for four more years.
