WH Press Sec. Makes Outrageous Claim About Economy

(LibertySociety.com) – Social media exploded last week after White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made comments about how Americans feel about the state of the economy, even after being pressed by a reporter who reminded her that only one-third of Americans believe President Biden is doing a good job handling the economy.

Jean-Pierre responded, saying, “When you think about how Americans feel better about their personal finances, that is important.” She went on to tout an increase in wages and future jobs that will be created by Biden’s policies, claiming that the priority of the White House is to continue telling Americans about the benefits of various pieces of legislation that President Biden has signed into law to combat inflation and provide high paying jobs.

Twitter users blasted Jean-Pierre’s claims, with many saying that they only know of one family that is benefiting from President Biden’s economy. Representative Bob Good, R-Va., expressed his belief on Twitter that only “the Biden Crime Family” is happy about its personal finances under President Biden’s leadership. Other lawmakers tweeted out inflation percentages and polls regarding how Americans disapprove of the direction of the country, noting that millions of Americans have little savings to tap into in the event of an emergency. The cost of groceries was also a hot topic after Jean-Pierre’s comments, as the price of nearly everything has gone up and stayed up.

Jean-Pierre also discussed President Biden’s announcement of the allocation of $40 billion to expand access to broadband internet, which was included in the 2021 infrastructure bill. One reporter asked her about President Biden’s economic plan, saying that it seems to be the opposite of what President Reagan did to make America prosperous again, with Jean-Pierre responding by criticizing trickle-down economics, listing all the ways she believes it hurts the working and middle class. The reporter noted that President Reagan is viewed by historians to be in the top ten of America’s greatest President’s, adding that he had a 60% approval rating at the end of his presidency.
