WH Claims GOP Is Playing Distraction Game

Nikki Haley Announces Run for President

(LibertySociety.com) – White House spokesman Ian Sams has been working overtime as of late, attempting to turn the tables on Republicans who are engaging in activities that are frowned upon by the Biden administration. On June 26, Sams responded to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s announcement that he is considering beginning impeachment proceedings against United States Attorney General Merrick Garland after learning of the allegations from two whistleblowers who provided testimony to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Sams said that the Republicans “have no positive agenda to actually help the American people,” unilaterally determining that potential corruption at the DOJ is not something the American people care about.

The whistleblowers claimed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) interfered in the investigation into Hunter Biden, refusing to allow additional charges to be brought against him in California and Washington D.C. They also said that Garland denied a request from the U.S. Attorney investigating Hunter Biden, preventing that lawyer from being designated as Special Counsel. Further, the whistleblowers told the committee that the FBI was prevented from asking questions to one of Hunter Biden’s business partners that would tie President Biden to his son’s business deals. A legitimate suggestion to search President Biden’s guest house, where Hunter Biden was staying, was also shut down, according to the whistleblowers.

White House spokesman Sams claimed that Republicans are trying to draw attention away from their Party’s policies that he believes provide no benefit to the working and middle class, adding that they are only focusing on “partisan stunts” to cater to the far-right wing of the Party. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made a similar claim during the daily press briefing where she invited Republicans to instead work with the White House to do things that benefit Americans. She refused to entertain questions from reporters who were seeking comments about specific accusations from the whistleblowers, including Garland’s role in the matter.

The White House also came under scrutiny on June 26 for blaming a glitch for a missing portion of Jean-Pierre’s briefing on YouTube when Today News Africa’s Simon Ateba confronted Jean-Pierre for discriminating against him, later restoring the original version after complaints.
