(LibertySociety.com) – Nearly half of voters believe President Biden will “forget where he is” during the first presidential debate on June 27.
A June 10-11 poll asked 500 respondents various questions about the upcoming debate, among other questions. Forty-one percent said Biden would exit the stage in the wrong direction, and 40 percent said he would “have problems standing up.” A whopping 70 percent said that he would have trouble speaking. Regarding Trump’s performance, 79 percent of respondents said that the former president would interrupt President Biden, and 54 percent expected his microphone to be turned off at some point during the debate. Sixty-one percent said that he would ramble while telling a story.
Fifty percent of respondents said that Trump would win the debate. Just 39 percent thought Biden would prevail, while 11 percent were unsure. In every age category, female respondents chose Trump as the victor over Biden in the debate. Ninety percent of Republican respondents said that Trump would win the debate, while just seven percent believed Biden would reign victorious. Two percent of Republicans were unsure.
Among Independents, 47 percent chose Trump as the debate king, 26 percent were unsure, and 27 percent chose Biden. Based on the poll, the Democratic Party appeared less confident in Biden than Republicans in Trump. Eighty percent said he would win the debate, seven percent were unsure, and 13 percent believed Trump would win.
The poll also included a word frequency analysis after asking respondents who their dream president would be. The 45th president’s last name was the most frequently used. Former President Obama’s name was the second largest on the plot, while Biden’s name was much smaller and offset. Unsurprisingly, Democrat respondents chose Obama as their dream president. Independent respondents equally chose Trump and Obama, while Republicans overwhelmingly chose Trump using his first and last name.
On June 20, CNN announced that independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had failed to meet the requirements to qualify for the first debate, dealing a blow to his hopes of getting prime-time exposure.
