(LibertySociety.com) – Following the Biden campaign’s press conference with actor Robert De Niro outside of former President Trump’s hush money trial, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance had much to say about the political stunt.
In an exclusive interview with one media outlet, Vance referred to De Niro’s appearance as a “mask-off moment for the Biden regime.” While countless spokespersons and media personalities have claimed that the Biden administration had nothing to do with the New York trial, Vance questioned why the 46th president’s campaign would show up for any reason other than to intimidate the jury during the conclusion of the trial.
Vance was asked if he thought De Niro calling Trump supporters “gangsters” and “clowns” was comparable to 2016 failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s attacks against Trump supporters. Vance noted that if De Niro had used those words to go after any other voter groups, he would have destroyed his career. He blasted the Biden campaign for adopting the strategy of attacking voters it should be trying to persuade. He recalled Trump’s approach when speaking to a crowd of Americans in the Democrat-dominated South Bronx. Vance said that instead of insulting them, Trump made clear that all Americans are equal and suffering from Biden’s failed leadership.
Vance suggested that Republicans should focus on contrasting Biden’s negative rhetoric toward voters with that of Trump’s, which is respectful and dignified. Vance said that the 45th president’s brutal honesty is attractive to American workers who do not appreciate being gaslit. He added that Americans have woken up to the fact that politicians who treat voters with disdain will also never go to bat for them. Vance said that Trump should hammer down this message to the working class, especially in swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Vance is hopeful of a Trump victory in November but said that Republicans need to hold the people accountable who flouted the country’s legal traditions to target a political opponent.
