(LibertySociety.com) – The Senate is making its way through the list of confirmation hearings and votes for President Joe Biden’s cabinet as he approaches the two-month mark of his administration. Recently, the chamber voted to fill another important position.
On March 15, the Senate voted 51-40 to confirm Rep. Deb Haaland (D-NM) as the next interior secretary. Most Republicans opposed her due to her energy policies. She opposes fracking and drilling on federal land. Haaland also supports Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Green New Deal which could cripple the oil and gas industry, destroying hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Haaland’s support of radical Left policies is cause for concern. As secretary of the Interior, she will have wide-reaching power over critical policies, like those related to fracking, that will impact America’s energy sector. If she chooses to take action against the industry, some believe it could suffer lasting damage.
