Trump’s Would-be Assassin’s Chilling Confession Revealed

(LibertySociety.com) – On Monday, the Department of Justice released a disturbing letter written by Ryan Wesley Routh, who is accused of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump. According to authorities, a witness came forward with the letter, saying they received it months before the attempted attack. The package, delivered by Routh, contained handwritten letters and ammunition. The witness only opened it after Routh became a suspect.

One of the letters was addressed “Dear World” and contained Routh’s confession to trying to kill Trump. Shockingly, he even offered money to anyone who could finish the job. In the letter, Routh criticized Trump, claiming he was unfit to be president.

Routh was arrested on September 15, 2024, during a traffic stop in Florida. He had allegedly tried to assassinate Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course. A memo from the investigation showed that Routh had been planning the attack for weeks. He had traveled from North Carolina to Florida on August 14. Investigators also found evidence that his cell phone was near Trump’s golf course and Mar-a-Lago home multiple times between August and September.

Routh had also written a book in 2023 that discussed global politics and encouraged Iran to carry out an assassination against Trump. In the book, he blamed himself and America for electing Trump, going so far as to apologize to Iran and suggest they had the right to take action.

So far, Routh has been charged with illegal gun possession. The rifle he had at the time of his arrest had a scratched-out serial number, and the Department of Justice confirmed it was loaded with 11 rounds when he was caught. Routh had been camping out at Trump’s golf course with the rifle and other supplies, including gear that could stop small arms fire.

Investigators revealed that Routh had also searched how to escape to Mexico on one of his six cell phones. A witness who saw Routh fleeing the scene was able to photograph his car and help law enforcement track him down.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has called for Routh to receive life in prison, and more serious charges are likely to follow.
