Trump Supporter Attacked for Wearing 2024 Hat

(LibertySociety.com) – In Bath, New York, a man allegedly attacked a stranger for wearing a Trump 2024 hat at a local grocery store on Friday morning. Officers from the Village of Bath Police Department responded to a call around 10:00 a.m. reporting a fight at the Tops Friendly Markets on West Morris Street, according to a police statement.

Upon arrival, police determined that 60-year-old Robert Yott, a resident of Bath, confronted the stranger solely because he was wearing a Trump 2024 hat. Yott allegedly punched the victim multiple times in the head and mouth, leaving the individual with broken teeth and a bloody mouth. Police confirmed that Yott had no prior connection to the victim, labeling it a random act of violence.

Following the incident, Yott was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is currently held at Steuben County Jail awaiting CAP arraignment.

The incident is one of several recent controversies related to pro-Trump attire as Election Day approaches. Earlier in the week, two American women were removed from a Heathrow airport flight bound for Austin, Texas, after a fight broke out over one of them wearing a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat, according to Breitbart News.

In another incident, a woman wearing a MAGA hat was targeted with backlash on social media simply for sitting behind home plate at the World Series game on October 27, where she was reportedly criticized with vulgar remarks online.

These confrontations have occurred in the midst of a highly charged election season. Former President Donald Trump, who is challenging Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency, has also been the target of two assassination attempts this year, first in July and again in September.

As political tensions rise across the country, incidents involving pro-Trump hats and other campaign paraphernalia continue to draw both public attention and law enforcement action.
