(LibertySociety.com) – FBI agents executed a search warrant on Rudy Giuliani’s apartment in New York City on Wednesday, April 28. The agents reportedly seized electronic devices from the former NYC mayor, including computers and cellphones. In an interview the next day, former President Donald Trump defended his former attorney.
Trump told Maria Bartiromo the raid on Giuliani’s apartment was “very unfair.” He said the former mayor is a “great patriot” who “loves” the US. The former president said that the DOJ seems to have a “double standard” when it comes to who they decide to investigate, mentioning John Kerry’s recent scandal. Mike Pompeo, Trump’s secretary of state, has accused Kerry of giving information about Israel to the Iranians. Trump pointed out that he thinks it’s “terrible” to see what’s happening in the country right now.
Trump on Fox: “Rudy Giuliani is a great patriot, he does these things, he just loves this country, and they raid his apartment. It’s like, so unfair, and such a double standard … like I don’t think anybody’s ever seen before…. I don’t know what they’re looking for”

It’s unclear what the FBI was looking for when they raided Giuliani’s apartment, and the agency doesn’t comment on ongoing investigations. Many Republicans believe that the probe is politically charged, but not enough is known to determine whether that’s true. As for Trump, he thinks the whole situation is “very sad.”
