Trump Shifts Blame Toward McConnell for Midterm Losses
(LibertySociety.com) – The “Red Wave” predicted for the midterm elections never came to fruition, and former President Donald Trump is putting the blame for the lackluster performance squarely on the shoulders of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Many were shocked that Democrats were able to keep control of the Upper Chamber, while Republicans were able to take back the House by slimmer margins than expected.
On November 12, Fox News reported the former president called McConnell “the WORST!” According to the source, Trump took to social media to vent his displeasure about the election results. He called the Kentucky lawmaker a “broken down Senate leader,” saying McConnell wasted money supporting the wrong candidates during the midterms.

Trump went a step further, stating “everyone despises him,” while also back-handedly slamming his wife. McConnell and the former US leader have had issues for some time. In fact, ever since the legislator stated Trump’s election fraud claims were unfounded, the previous president and McConnell have been at odds.
As for the midterms, the Kentucky senator wasn’t the only one receiving blame. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) pointed the finger at Trump-backed candidates, saying their refusal to move past the 2020 election was likely their downfall.
