Trump Set To Participate in CNN Town Hall

Former President Trump Schedules Town Hall With CNN

(LibertySociety.com) – With the 2024 election cycle picking up speed, former President Donald Trump is launching his campaign strategy by participating in a Town Hall event in New Hampshire with CNN. The network, which underwent a corporate shake-up in 2022, is one of the 45th President’s favorite outlets to criticize, and although he has deemed them to be “fake news” for many years, his campaign also knows how to reach voters. Kaitlan Collins, who was in the White House press pool when former President Trump was in office, will be the moderator during the event. Collins has drawn widespread condemnation since the announcement on May 1st, 2023.

Politico covered the story, reporting that former President Trump’s interactions with the media will not be limited to CNN, listing NBC and other “notable outlets” as potential avenues that he will be utilizing to spread his campaign message. Rumors have circulated that the CNN event was scheduled to take a hit at Fox News, which is reportedly the host of the first Republican Primary Debate, garnering criticism from the former president for not being included in the decision-making process. However, Politico reported that the CNN Town Hall event has been in the works for months, with CNN initiating the discussions.

New Hampshire will be the second race in the primaries, and official candidates as well as potential candidates have made stops all over the state over the last few months, including Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is rumored to be announcing his candidacy soon. Former President Trump campaigned there on April 27th, 2023, at the Manchester hotel, poking fun at President Biden and taking questions after his speech in front of a crowd. The Town Hall event with CNN will take place at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, airing on May 10th, 2023, at 9:00 p.m. EST.
