Trump Condemns Border Crisis in New Interview

(LibertySociety.com) – Former President Donald Trump has been relatively quiet since leaving the White House. He did speak at this year’s CPAC conference, but hasn’t engaged much outside of his Florida home. He recently had his first on-camera interview as a private citizen — and he had a lot to say.

Fox News host Sean Hannity conducted the interview, which aired Monday night, April 19. Hannity asked Trump about the growing border crisis. Trump responded that the Biden administration was trying to play down the full extent of the crisis.

“It’s a horrible situation,” he explained, adding that it “could destroy” the United States. Trump also pointed out that migrants were flooding across the border, “tens of thousands” of them. According to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, it’s the worst it’s been in 20 years.

The border had been more secure for years due to Trump’s decisive leadership. All the incoming Biden administration needed to do was “leave [his policies] alone,” Trump concluded.
