Trump Campaign Criticizes CNN for Cutting Press Secretary’s Mic

(LibertySociety.com) – The Trump campaign recently blasted a prominent left-leaning media network after one of its hosts repeatedly interrupted and overtalked Trump campaign spokeswoman, Caroline Leavitt. During an interview just three days before the first presidential debate hosted by that same network, Leavitt brought up debate moderator Jake Tapper’s previous comments about Trump, including how he frequently compared him to Adolf Hitler. The host immediately tried to stop Leavitt from speaking and said she would not allow guests to “attack” her colleagues.

In a statement, Leavitt slammed the network for refusing to let her speak freely. She pointed out that the host’s reaction confirmed that Trump would “not be treated fairly” during the debate. The host defended her decision to end the interview in a post on X, formerly Twitter. She claimed that her reaction would have been the same to anyone who was disrespecting her colleagues, no matter which political party they represented. However, X users were not convinced, with many arguing that the host and the network were not deserving of any respect due to their continual lies about Republicans and the former president. Others pointed out that a mere suggestion to research previous comments made by Tapper was not disrespectful.

Over the last several years, Tapper has made various malicious claims about Trump. He accused the 45th president of being untruthful about testing for the virus during the pandemic. He told his viewers that he would not air remarks given by Trump out of fear that he would say something dangerous. He continued to accuse Trump of colluding with Russia even after it was proven to be completely fabricated. Perhaps most egregiously, Tapper criticized Trump after he was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the virus during the pandemic.

Quite shockingly, Tapper and the other moderator, Dana Bash, did not appear to show any bias during the debate, outside of only asking Trump whether he would accept the results of the 2024 election and not Biden.
