Trump Campaign Ad Targets Governor Ron DeSantis

(LibertySociety.com) – Although Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has not officially announced a run for President of the United States in 2024, it is widely speculated within the media that he is intending to do so. He is traveling to many of the states where the first primary elections are held, talking to voters and meeting with local GOP members. He has hired new staff in some of those locations but has only given vague answers when asked if he will be challenging former President Donald Trump. But several months ago, the 45th President began scrutinizing Governor DeSantis.

DeSantis has tied to Republicans such as Karl Rove and Paul Ryan, who are vehemently opposed to a second term for former President Trump. Rumors swirled that they were trying to convince DeSantis to run against the former president in the 2024 Republican Primary Elections, and the criticism of DeSantis continued to escalate. Now Trump has released a new campaign advertisement, highlighting DeSantis’ previous support of him.

The ad begins with a narrator describing Ron DeSantis’s experience during his run for Governor of Florida in 2018, stating that “he was losing by a staggering 17 points.” The ad claims that the endorsement of Trump transformed his campaign and was responsible for his win. The ad shows DeSantis thanking the 45th President for his endorsement, with the narrator accusing DeSantis of lodging an attack against former President Trump instead of standing by him. The video then switches to a DeSantis campaign ad that was solely based on praising then-President Trump, with the narrator asking, “Isn’t it time DeSantis remembers how he got to where he is?” Although Governor DeSantis was at his own rally when former President Trump held one in Florida prior to the 2022 midterm elections, he did mention his endorsement of Governor DeSantis for re-election.
