(LibertySociety.com) – President-elect Donald Trump unveiled two high-profile ambassador nominations on social media Tuesday night, naming Herschel Walker as his choice for U.S. ambassador to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and Nicole McGraw as U.S. ambassador to Croatia. In his announcement, Trump also issued a stern warning to Senate Republicans against making deals with Democrats to expedite nominations before his inauguration.
Trump described Herschel Walker, a longtime ally and former NFL star, as a “successful businessman, philanthropist, former Heisman Trophy winner, and NFL great.” Walker, who ran for the U.S. Senate in Georgia in 2022, previously served as co-chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition during Trump’s first term. He was also recognized for his efforts to support military personnel and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
“Herschel has spent decades serving as an ambassador to our Nation’s youth, our men and women in the Military, and athletes at home and abroad,” Trump said in his post. “Congratulations, Herschel! You will make Georgia, and our entire Nation, proud, because we know you will always put AMERICA FIRST!”
In a second announcement, Trump nominated Nicole McGraw, a prominent philanthropist and art collector, as ambassador to Croatia. McGraw, a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in art history and studio art, leads CANVAS Art Charities and serves on the board of Place of Hope, an organization supporting neglected and abused children.
“Nicole has brought fine art to the People through her work and raised millions of dollars for neglected and abused children,” Trump noted. “Congratulations Nicole!”
Trump concluded his posts with a pointed message to Senate Republicans, urging them not to compromise with Democrats on speeding up nominations during the final weeks of the current Congress.
“I won the biggest mandate in 129 years,” Trump wrote. “I will make my appointments of Very Qualified People in January when I am sworn in.”
The nominations of Walker and McGraw showcase Trump’s emphasis on loyalty, public service, and a commitment to his “America First” agenda as he assembles his administration ahead of his second term.
