Trump, Abbott Visit Southern Border Wall in Texas

( – There’s an unprecedented crisis at the Southern border as a result of President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. The administration spent months ignoring it and refusing to visit. Their inaction led to an announcement from former President Donald Trump that he would travel to Texas to see what was going on. That trip took place last week.

On June 30, Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) met to tour the border city of Weslaco. The two visited an unfinished portion of the wall and held a roundtable event. During the discussion, the former president talked about his successful border policies. He pointed out that illegal immigration was at a historic low during his tenure as president. The Texas governor slammed the Biden administration for the rise in illegal crossings and drug seizures.

Trump said America is in a “sick state” because of Biden’s policies. He pointed to questions about the 2020 elections and the border crisis, saying if the US doesn’t have a strong border or good election, then we “don’t have a country.”

Texas has vowed to complete the border wall in its state. Other states, such as Florida and South Dakota, have sent resources to the border to help secure it. Meanwhile, the federal government has not announced any other plans to stop the crisis.
