Tim Walz’s Family Caught Supporting Trump in New Photo

(LibertySociety.com) – Several family members of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, have publicly shown support for former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee. A photo shared by Charles Herbster, a former Republican gubernatorial candidate from Nebraska, featured members of the Walz family wearing blue shirts that read “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump.” These family members are related to Governor Walz on his grandfather’s brother’s side.

Former President Trump acknowledged the photo and personally thanked Jeff Walz, Governor Walz’s brother, in a Truth Social post. “Thank you very much, Jeff,” Trump wrote. “It is a Great Honor to have your Endorsement. I look forward to meeting you soon!”

The endorsement from Jeff Walz is notable, given that he has previously expressed his disapproval of his brother’s political views. In a Facebook post from March 2023, Jeff described the current state of the country as a “third-world banana republic.” When someone suggested that Jeff speak with his brother about political issues, he revealed that he had not spoken to Governor Walz in eight years and that he opposed his brother’s ideology.

Jeff Walz further shared that his family was not informed about Tim Walz’s vice-presidential nomination and felt overlooked when it came to security considerations after the announcement. Some commenters encouraged Jeff to publicly endorse Trump on stage, to which Jeff admitted he had thought about it but was unsure if he wanted to bring more attention to his family.

Governor Walz has three siblings: Sandy Dietrich, who lives in Nebraska, Jeff Walz in Florida, and Craig Walz, who passed away in 2016 due to a tragic accident while camping in northern Minnesota. Despite the political divide in the family, Jeff Walz’s support of Trump has gained attention, adding an unusual dynamic to the already intense political landscape.
