(LibertySociety.com) – On January 20, the Chinese Communist Party sanctioned 28 officials from Donald Trump’s administration. The adversarial government claimed they “violated China’s sovereignty.” Now, a senator wants President Joe Biden’s administration to do something about it.
On February 10, Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging him to take action. The senator said the Trump officials on the list served the US “with honor and distinction,” calling China’s actions “an affront” that “cannot stand.”

The Secretary of State didn’t respond to the senator’s letter directly. According to The Washington Free Beacon, the State Department said that China’s sanctions on Trump officials are “counterproductive” and don’t fit the narrative that the country wants to improve the relations with the US.
Words are hollow if there are no actions behind them. If Biden allows the Chinese to get away with this, he’ll look weak on the world stage when America needs to stand tall.
