(LibertySociety.com) – The second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump kicked off on February 9. Many Republicans believe the proceedings aren’t even lawful, and one outspoken senator made sure the country knows exactly where he stands.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) called the trial unconstitutional and slammed the Left for moving forward with it. He mentioned that while the lawmaking body is holding the hearings, President Joe Biden is killing jobs.

On the first day of the trial, the Senate ruled the proceedings as constitutional despite Trump’s position as a private citizen. Strangely, they made the determination without input from the Supreme Court, the body that is supposed to make the final ruling on what is and isn’t constitutional. And, Chief Justice John Roberts isn’t even presiding over the trial, as required by the Constitution.
The entire process makes a mockery of our country. It will go down in history as a stain on our Republic no matter how the Senate rules.
