(LibertySociety.com) – In January, a New York Times article mentioned possible problems between Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and former President Donald Trump. On February 7, the Florida leader told Fox News the rumor is “total bunk.” DeSantis squashed the narrative during an interview, stating the previous POTUS is a friend and appreciates the job he does in the Sunshine State.
DeSantis believes the media is trying to conjure up something that simply isn’t there because of some of the words Trump recently used to refer to the Florida governor.
“Donald Trump’s a friend of mine,” DeSantis said.@GovRonDeSantis responded to rumors that he and former President Trump are embroiled in a behind-the-scenes feud, saying such reports and suggestions are “total bunk.” https://t.co/UuXKEwSsVl

Many people think DeSantis will put his hat in the ring for president of the United States in 2024, along with Trump’s anticipated run. Neither potential candidate has formally declared an intent to seek the presidential office.
Regarding the rumors, the Florida governor simply said Trump wants Republicans to succeed, and he believes certain media sources are trying to spin the former leader’s words to promote the appearance he’s upset at DeSantis for doing just that.
He feels Democrats are trying to distract from the fact they might lose big in November by making up tension stories that aren’t true. In the meantime, the state leader is proud of his work in Florida and will continue to do what he thinks is best for his residents without taking the media bait.
