(LibertySociety.com) – On April 9, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) attended a UFC fight in Jacksonville, Florida, where a cheering crowd met him, and some thought he might announce a presidential run for 2024. Although the governor didn’t officially announce he would run for president of the United States in the upcoming election, many speculate his visit shows he might do just that.
As DeSantis entered the venue and walked to his seat, he began high-fiving people in the crowd. The engagement with the attendees was reminiscent of hopefuls in the past greeting would-be voters on the campaign trail.

Based on the crowd’s response, the governor’s popularity seems high among Florida residents. He recently signaled to the Republican party his capability to raise large amounts of money from big donors for a campaign, with the $100 million he garnered in 2021.
That fact, plus his popularity, could make him a prime candidate prospect for the Right, especially if former President Donald Trump decides not to run again. According to Anchorage Daily News, the Florida governor remains the second-place favorite as the Republican presidential candidate behind Trump and ahead of former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.
Do you think DeSantis will run for president in 2024, and would you support his efforts to win the White House?
