(LibertySociety.com) – Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. retires from his position at the end of December. One of the cases he’s been investigating for nearly two years is against former President Donald Trump for some of his business practices. Before he exits his seat, many wonder whether he intends to bring criminal charges against the businessman and go out on a very public stage. Given his prosecutorial history, the move seems unlikely, but not out of the question.
After a dozen years in office, one piece of unfinished business remains for Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. before he retires: Will he go out with a bang by bringing criminal charges against Donald Trump?https://t.co/2zYmGglods

According to Trump’s attorney, the investigation against the former leader relates to allegations of “hush-money” payouts to women and value manipulations regarding Trump’s real estate holdings. Although Vance refuses to go into detail about an ongoing investigation, his team told Trump Attorney Ronald Fischetti they don’t intend to charge him with the first indictment.
Once Vance retires, Democratic attorney Alvin Bragg will take his place, and there’s no telling if he’ll be more aggressive in his pursuit of Trump. So, even if the current district attorney doesn’t bring an indictment, that doesn’t mean the former president is out of the woods. If either attorney decides to bring a case against Trump to court, it will be the first time a former president has faced criminal charges.
