(LibertySociety.com) – Democrats have been railing against election security bills since Georgia passed its law earlier this year. They have made a number of allegations, including that the state passed “new Jim Crow” laws. During a recent event, former President Barack Obama jumped onto the dogpile.
On June 4, Obama spoke at a virtual event held by The Economic Club of Chicago. During an answer to a question, he claimed the election security law will make it harder for people in cities to vote. The former president alleged that there is now a “different set of rules” for how Atlanta’s voters are counted than the way they’re “counted in the rest” of the state. That statement was categorically false; all votes will be counted the same way.
Obama went on to encourage more corporations to protest election security laws. He claims Republicans are “rigging” the game and urged Democrats to push back on their “dangerous behavior.” Apparently, securing the right to a free and fair election is now “dangerous.” Weird.
