(LibertySociety.com) – Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has drawn enormous attention to the crisis at the southern border of the United States. On February 2, he weighed in on why he believes the Biden administration has done nothing to curb the flow of illegal migrants into the country. In a post on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Musk wrote a two-step strategy that outlined the Democrats’ plan to secure more voters. The first part was allowing “as many illegals in the country as possible.” The second part was the plan to give illegal migrants citizenship to create “a one-party state” where the Democrats would never lose power.
Musk’s post was met with resounding agreement, with some asking why it took him so long to notice. Musk admitted that he lagged in picking up on the Democrats’ strategy. In a follow-up post, he shared the text of the alleged bipartisan Senate bill that would have paved the way for increased amnesty. The bill died in the Senate, but Democrats are determined to make their amnesty dream a reality. Since President Biden took office, the population of foreign-born residents has increased by 4.8 million.
The number of illegal crossings at the southern border has steadily increased each year of the Biden administration. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported 101,099 illegal migrant encounters in February 2021. That number nearly tripled in December 2023, with 302,034 illegal migrant encounters reported. CBP indicated that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deported a record 472,000 illegal migrants between May and December last year, but that is a mere drop in the bucket compared to the millions that have crossed into the United States since 2021. In addition, recent data released by the Center for Immigration Studies showed that job growth under the Biden administration was attributed to the hiring of illegal migrants with work authorizations.
