(LibertySociety.com) – Anti-Trump filmmaker Michael Moore last week suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris could defeat Republican nominee Donald Trump by embracing identity politics and doubling down on her support for the pro-Hamas faction of the Democrat base.
In a July 29 blog post on his website, Moore claimed that white men in America were “being shown the door” as the country became “female and not-so-white.”
Moore suggested that Harris would be better off abandoning any support for Israel and insisting on a ceasefire in Gaza as a way to appeal to Muslim voters in Michigan. He suggested that if Harris did not take those steps, Trump would likely win the state, and in turn, retake the White House.
Moore also urged the vice president to resist the calls to select Pennsylvania’s Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro as her running mate, arguing that the Jewish governor’s support for Israel would lead to her defeat in Michigan.
The Harris campaign quickly embraced identity politics in its first week, with supporters holding various racially segregated Zoom meetings, including one hosted by “Win With Black Women” and another by “White Dudes for Kamala,” that sought to raise money for the Harris campaign.
Meanwhile, the newly selected nominee has refused to sit down for a one-on-one interview on cable or network news or hold a press conference where reporters could directly question the vice president about her various flip-flops on many of the policy positions she previously held, including her about-face on such issues as banning fracking, ending private health insurance, defunding the police, and a mandatory gun buyback program.
Despite her many flip-flops, the elusive nominee has avoided taking any questions from the press and instead has only delivered prepared remarks at various campaign events where reporters were even blocked from interviewing attendees.
Donald Trump faced hostile questions from a panel of reporters at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago last Wednesday while Vice President Harris, who would have likely received a much more friendly reception, declined to attend.
