(LibertySociety.com) – Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) was one of the loudest voices calling for former President Donald Trump’s impeachment. Her actions have pushed GOP lawmakers to call for her resignation from her position as House Republican Conference chair, and they want her out of Congress altogether. Now, a high-ranking conservative leader faces backlash after coming to her defense and attacking another party member.
On February 1, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) commented on the controversy surrounding Cheney, calling her “a leader with deep convictions and courage.” Maybe if he’d ended there, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but apparently, he had a case of the Mondays and lost his common sense for the day. McConnell attacked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), saying she’s spreading “loony lies” and calling them a “cancer” on the GOP.
Greene hit back on Twitter.
The real cancer for the Republican Party is weak Republicans who only know how to lose gracefully.
This is why we are losing our country.

McConnell lost the Senate majority this past year, giving Democrats the advantage in leadership. Maybe if he’d campaigned for the Republican Party with as much energy as he used to betray it, he would still be the majority leader.
