Melania Trump Auctioning Trump-Era White House Memorabilia

(LibertySociety.com) – Former First Lady Melania Trump announced on Tuesday via Twitter that she would auction off memorabilia she coined as the Head of State Collection. The items include an Hervé Pierre white wide-brimmed hat, a watercolor painting, and a nonfungible token (NFT).

She plans to use the proceeds from the auction to help children in the foster-care system gain better access to computer science and technology education by creating scholarships during the first quarter of the year.

According to the announcement, the auction will start at $250,000 and take place on the Solana blockchain. Bidders will use cryptocurrency to try and win the collection.

The items up for sale center around the former first lady and former President Donald Trump’s reception of French President Emmanuel Macron in 2018.

The one-of-a-kind high blocked crown hat fashioned by French American designer Pierre matched the suit Mrs. Trump wore for the occasion and is the centerpiece of the memorabilia. In addition to the accessory, the original watercolor painting by Marc-Antoine Coulon commemorates the state visit, and the NFT is a digital representation of the same event.

The former first lady reportedly signed all the items in the collection.
