Lightyear Movie Fails To Reach Number One Spot at the Box Office

Disney HUMILIATED – Box Office Numbers Show What Happened

( – The origin story of Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story” released on the big screen over the weekend of June 17 but failed to secure the number one spot against its competitors. Some blamed the failure to take the box office by storm on the “woke” same-sex kiss scene in the movie “Lightyear,” while others simply believe the picture was up against two popular franchises and didn’t stand a chance.

The “Toy Story” spinoff stars Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger on a mission to save the galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg. Unfortunately, the Disney film was up against “Jurassic World: Dominion,” featuring impressive dinosaurs from days past, and “Top Gun: Maverick,” a movie some fans have been waiting nearly 40 years to see.

Attorney Jenna Ellis reacted to the dismal earnings for “Lightyear” by issuing a warning to movie makers everywhere: “Go woke, go broke.”

Some responded to her tweet in agreement, saying they were going to see the movie until they found out about the kiss and opted out.

No matter the reason for the poor showing, the result seems to be an overall failure for Disney.

Did you see one of the three new movies last weekend?
