Leaked Documents Show China Is Arming American Criminals

(LibertySociety.com) – Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer detailed another “Disintegration Warfare” plan of the Chinese government in his new book. Schweizer compared how China uses fentanyl as a way to destabilize the United States to auto sear switches, which turn handguns into machine guns. The switches began pouring into the United States in 2018, mostly through the mail. They are highly regulated devices in China, and it is illegal for American gun owners to possess them.

Schweizer points out how China uses ancient strategies taught by Sun Tzu to wreak havoc on the United States. Focusing on the common subjects of division between the political parties, China believes that this method is more effective than any other modern warfare strategy. Schweitzer included documents that were leaked from U.S. Federal law enforcement agencies to prove his claims. The auto sear switches can be purchased on English-language Chinese websites, making it easy for criminals to get their hands on them. Incidents from machine gun fire across 130 cities increased by over 4,000 percent from 2019 to 2021.

Schweizer noted that once law enforcement improved its methods of identifying the switches in the mail, China began sending them to Mexico to be smuggled across the southern border, just like fentanyl. He included an internally distributed memo from the Department of Homeland Security, which showed that the switches are being sent to the largest cities in the United States. Most end up in the hands of gang members, drug dealers, and convicted felons.

In 2022, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) reported a 500 percent increase in auto sear switch confiscations, according to Schweizer. Incidents involving fully automatic gunfire in 2022 increased by 273 occurrences from the previous year. Schweizer pointed out that most United States lawmakers have failed to suggest any meaningful action to compel China to stop sending the switches. However, 11 senators wasted no time introducing legislation to further restrict switch ownership in the United States. As of now, only law enforcement and gun owners with a federal license can own the switches.
