Kendrick Lamar Set to Star in 2025 Super Bowl Halftime

(LibertySociety.com) – Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show at the NFL’s biggest event next year. The Grammy-winning rapper will take the stage on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, marking another monumental moment in his career. The announcement, made by the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation on Sunday, has already generated massive excitement.

Lamar, who has won 17 Grammys and made history as the first non-classical, non-jazz artist to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album DAMN., expressed his enthusiasm for the performance. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said, adding that he’s excited to show the world why. Lamar previously performed at the Super Bowl in 2022 as a guest alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, and Eminem.

The 37-year-old artist has seen incredible success since his 2012 debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. His latest project, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, was released in 2022, and he has continued to dominate the charts, including this year’s No. 1 hit, “Like That,” with Future and Metro Boomin.

Lamar is no stranger to creating unforgettable live performances. His 2016 Grammy performance of “The Blacker the Berry” and “Alright” left a lasting impression, and he followed it up with a powerful opening act in 2018 with “XXX.”

The halftime show will be co-produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins. The creative direction of the performance will be handled by pgLang, the company Lamar co-founded with Dave Free. Roc Nation’s Jay-Z praised Lamar, calling him a “once-in-a-generation artist,” noting how his influence transcends music and leaves a lasting cultural impact.

This year’s show follows Usher’s successful Super Bowl performance, which featured special guests like Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and Ludacris. Apple Music’s vice president, Oliver Schusser, described the halftime show as a celebration of the artists we love on the world’s biggest stage, and Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming performance is sure to be one of the most anticipated events of the year.
