Kanye West Prohibited From Performing at This Year's Grammys

(LibertySociety.com) – The Recording Academy, in charge of the 2022 Grammy Awards, decided to ban Kanye West, also known as Ye, from performing this year at the awards show.

The organization pointed to his recent “concerning online behavior” directed at Daily Show host Trevor Noah, ex-wife Kim Kardashian, and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson as the reason for the cancellation. Over the last few months, Ye attacked Noah with racial slurs and sent abusive texts to Kardashian and Davidson.

Noah will host the music awards show at which Ye is no longer welcome. In response to the award show barring Ye, the host spoke out, suggesting the recording artist needs counseling, not canceling. Instagram suspended the rapper’s account for one day following his post slurring Noah.

Ye insists that his erratic behavior of late is all in an attempt to put his family with Kim Kardashian back together.

The musical talent is still nominated to receive 5 Grammy awards at the event to add to the 22 he’s received in previous years. Although he’s still eligible to receive awards, he cannot perform there. Do you think the award show ban helps Ye with his issues, or do you believe cancel culture does more harm than good?
