(LibertySociety.com) – On February 20, Vice President Kamala Harris warned Americans about possible further rising energy costs as Russia occupies Ukraine. Unfortunately, citizens of the United States are already struggling due to economic pressure from the pandemic and are knee-deep in sacrifice, so the implication they might pay more at the pump is alarming.
In 2021, inflation rates soared a whopping 7.5%, the highest in 40 years. Americans are already paying more for gas, clothes, food, a place to live and medical care. How much more will they have to endure?
Kamala Harris on consequences if Russia invades Ukraine: “When America stands for her principles and all of the things we hold dear, um, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that, maybe, we will incur some costs…”pic.twitter.com/SPSPwkd8qH

Harris claims potential costs following a Russian occupation of Ukraine are because America must stand up for the “things we hold dear.” In other words, she believes the United States needs to stop Russia from starting a conflict with its neighbor, even if that means Americans will literally have to pay. The VP stated there is a “possibility of war” overseas. The White House and other countries have already imposed sanctions on Russia, which could affect everyday Americans.
Given all the sacrifices US citizens have made since the beginning of the pandemic, is the Biden administration right to ask them to dig deep and pay more for Ukrainian sovereignty?
