(LibertySociety.com) – California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters last week claimed that Republicans were attacking Vice President Kamala Harris over petty things like her laugh and who she dated in the past because they can’t attack her intelligence or experience.
In an appearance on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” one day after President Joe Biden officially withdrew from the 2024 election and endorsed his vice president as nominee, Waters and far-left host Joy Reid agreed that the “MAGA right” was “terrified” to face off against Vice President Harris in the November election.
Reid noted that Republicans were attacking Harris over her laugh and the men that she’s dated and that they have claimed that it was “illegal” for Harris to take over as the Democrat nominee.
Waters interjected that Republicans would accuse Harris of “all kinds of things” and “call her names,” but insisted that the vice president would not be “intimidated.”
The California Democrat argued that Kamala Harris was “smart” and “tough” and since she “worked at the White House,” she knew “how it all works.”
Waters insisted that Vice President Harris was “smarter than Trump” and if the Republicans went after her in the election, “she’s gonna get them.”
Joy Reid asked Waters to describe Kamala Harris “as a person” and what voters needed to know about her.
Waters described the vice president as “determined” and boasted that she had a “good career” that allowed her to move “up the ladder” to the Senate and the vice presidency. She claimed that Harris accomplished all of that because “she is strong” and “believed in herself.”
The California Rep. claimed that Harris had the “strength” and “courage,” and was defined by a “kind of belief in self.” She described Harris as “accomplished,” explaining that she trained and “went to school” and was taught “all of those things.”
Waters also noted that Harris graduated from Howard University.
Reid claimed that Harris’ 2020 run for the White House was “grounded” in “the legacy of Shirley Chisholm, which the MSNBC host said was important because Harris understood “her assignment in the world.”
