Huma Abedin Accuses US Senator of Assault in New Book

( –  When someone is a victim of sexual assault, it’s not uncommon to suffer from memory gaps surrounding the traumatic event. Sometimes, the mind blocks the recollection altogether until a trigger brings it to the surface. Huma Abedin, a former aide to Hillary Clinton, reveals one such incident in her upcoming memoir, set to release on November 2. In her book entitled “Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds,” the wife of disgraced former Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY) told the story of an unnamed senator who made unwanted advances on her in 2005.

Her memoir will reveal more details about her interaction with the senator, in addition to the embarrassment and heartbreak she suffered during her estranged husband’s sexting scandal in 2011. That was the same year she found out she was pregnant with their only child. Time and confession would tell the tale of Weiner’s many affairs, both online and in-person, ending their marriage.

She also talks about her time as Hillary Clinton’s aide and the partial responsibility she feels for the politician’s presidential loss in 2016.

When asked by CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell, during an interview set to air on CBS Sunday Morning why she chose now to speak out, Abedin said she wants to be the one to write her own history. She’s spent the last five years raising her son, filing for divorce, and penning her story for the world to read.
