Herschel Walker Calls Out Obama for Voting Advice Based on Race

(LibertySociety.com) – Former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker has sharply criticized Barack Obama, accusing him of pushing Black Americans backward by urging them to vote based on race. Walker’s remarks came in response to Obama’s concern over Kamala Harris’ slipping support among Black voters, particularly Black men.

Walker fired back at Obama on social media, writing, “Barack Obama, you forgot how hard we fought for our right to vote! Telling us how to vote based on color is a step backward. The bad policies of Biden/Harris have hurt us all. We need unity brother, not division!” He emphasized the need for togetherness with the hashtag #TogetherWeStand.

Obama’s comments followed a Pew Research poll showing Harris polling lower among Black voters than Biden did in 2020. The survey indicated that only 84 percent of Black voters planned to support Harris, with 13 percent backing Donald Trump. In contrast, Biden received 92 percent of the Black vote in 2020.

This decline in support has worried Democrats, and Obama voiced his concerns during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania. He pointed out that turnout and enthusiasm from Black communities, particularly Black men, has not matched the levels seen during his campaigns.

Despite Obama’s calls for support, there’s been a notable shift. From 2018 to 2022, Republicans increased their share of the Black vote, jumping from 9 percent to 13 percent, indicating growing discontent within a key Democratic voter base .
