Henry Kissinger Warns Extended Ukraine Conflict Would Lead To Disastrous Consequences
(LibertySociety.com) – During a speech at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on May 23, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger suggested Ukraine give up some territory to bring a quick end to the Russian invasion. He went on to say a crushing defeat for Putin would likely mean trouble for Europe’s stability, so the West needs to stop pushing for that outcome. Kissinger encouraged negotiations between the new countries, stating they need to happen within the “next two months.”

The former politician insisted a prolonged war would have long-lasting effects on Russia’s and Ukraine’s relationship with the rest of the European continent.
Despite the words of Kissinger, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was clear he would not cede any piece of his country’s land to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated the former US secretary of state might have his respect, but those in charge of his country “strongly disagree” with his opinion. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also chimed in to agree with Kuleba.
While negotiation agreement decisions with Russia are ultimately up to Zelenskyy, it’s unlikely he will give up any land, as evidenced by his stance on the matter so far.
What do you think about Kissinger’s opinion? Do you think Ukraine should give up some land to Russia for peace in the region?
