(LibertySociety.com) – In February, two Democratic representatives from California, Jerry McNerney and Anna Eshoo, sent letters to 12 satellite and cable providers. The lawmakers wanted to know how the companies responded to “disinformation” on conservative networks before and after the Capitol Hill incident. Republicans took the letters as an attempt by the Left to deplatform their news networks.
Recently, two Republicans composed a letter of their own to prevent that from happening.
On March 8, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rodney Davis (R-IL) formally wrote to House Administration Committee Chair Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) asking her to ensure Republican-friendly news outlets will continue to air on the Capitol’s internal TV system. The Ohio congressman said keeping those networks on and adding Newsmax will show the “House’s commitment to rejecting cancel culture.”

America was founded on freedom of speech and the freedom of the press. If Democrats in the House start dictating what television programs lawmakers can watch, that could be considered a violation of both those rights. Davis and Jordan understand that would erode Congress members’ rights and want to prevent it from happening.
