Florida Man Pleads for Bible to Be Banned in Schools in Response to DeSantis' Bill

Activist Begs For Bible Ban In Schools

(LibertySociety.com) – In the wake of Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signing a bill into law allowing for curriculum transparency in Florida, one activist took it upon himself to insist schools and libraries ban the Bible immediately. Chaz Stevens claims the book contains material not appropriate for children, such as murder, adultery, rape, bestiality, and infanticide. Although the Florida man said his efforts in activism have been “wildly successful” in the past, attacking religion may bring a different result.

DeSantis’ efforts to give parents more control over their children’s education in the Sunshine State led to several book bans from school libraries. Under the new law, elementary schools in Florida must publish a list of reading materials available to children online for public scrutiny. Items that don’t meet academic standards for the state are subject to removal. He stated parents in his state aren’t “interested in indoctrination” from their children’s schools, and this measure gives them more power over what schools expose them to while in the institution’s care.

Stevens aims to take the governor’s intentions and turn the new law against him by attacking the most widely-circulated book in the world. He said all he wants to do is point out the hypocrisy because he knows the Bible will stay and is not used as a teaching tool in public schools. Florida educators are currently turning to the state for guidance on the matter.
