Federal Assault Charges Filed Against Woman Who Charged Trump Property

(LibertySociety.com) – In January, Hannah Roemhild, 30, breached US Secret Service barricades near President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Her vehicle stopped when officers fired into her car. Now, she’s being charged by federal authorities for the incident.

On October 26, prosecutors charged Roemhild with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon — her car. The charges were filed in US District Court in West Palm Beach.

President Trump wasn’t at his property when Roemhild breached the security barriers. Authorities say she was “impaired” and her attorney, David Roth, claimed she has mental health issues. At the time of the incident, she’d reportedly stopped taking her medication.

Roemhild was also charged in Florida and has pleaded not guilty by reason of temporary insanity. Her attorney expects a similar plea in the federal case.
