(LibertySociety.com) – For four years, Democrats have howled about election interference. They’ve claimed the only reason Donald Trump won in 2016 was that Russia had its hand in it. The theory was debunked repeatedly by federal law enforcement, but that hasn’t stopped the Left from repeating the claims. Now, the tables have turned.
FBI Makes Big Announcement
On October 21, the FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe announced foreign actors are interfering in the 2020 election. Russia and Iran are both spreading misinformation and have obtained voter information.
Some Americans got a taste of the interference earlier this week when threatening emails were sent to voters and attributed to the Proud Boys. According to Ratcliffe, those emails were an attempt by Iran to make the president look bad because Democrats have been trying to link Trump to the group since the first debate.
The DNI also said an Iranian video circulating implies, “individuals could cast fraudulent ballots even from overseas.”
FBI Director Wray said the federal government is working with social media companies, the intelligence community, state, local, and federal officials to “bolster security, and identify and disrupt any threats.” He also said the agency has been working to build safe election infrastructure to make sure Americans know their votes count.
Democratic Leader Refuses to Take Threat Seriously
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) spoke to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow after the announcement and refused to admit Iran is trying to interfere to hurt Trump. He said he doesn’t believe the actions were “aimed at discrediting President Trump.” The DNI literally said the exact opposite.
Interestingly, the Liberal leader denies the facts, even after his party spent years talking about election interference. It’s almost like they don’t care about it if it’s benefiting them. Ironic.
